A Walk to End Alzheimer's

Image
My grandmother had Dementia.  I work with a whole floor of residents who suffer from varying degrees of Alzheimer's and Dementia.  It's scary and sad and sometimes even a little comical.  I see how this disease destroys people who were once something so much more.  I'm participating in the Walk to End Alzheimer's through my work in a few weeks.  Consider a donation for me.  It will help a great cause that is near and dear to me and I will also get a cool Tshirt if I meet all my donation requirements.  And this girl loves her Tshirts!!  :)

I want this!

Looking through my stats on the blog one post and one key term(s) is always on there...The Bristol Stool Scale.  I found this mug that has said scale on it.  I want it.  My birthday is less than a month away.  That is all.

Me, embarrassed? Pshh!

I found myself, not once, but twice last week telling someone that I have IBS.  Not Crohn's, not chronic diarrhea, not half a bowel and small intestine.  Just plain old ordinary Irritable Bowel Syndrome.  I do have both IBS and Crohn's so the statement was true enough but it left me wondering.  Why did I do that??  They both suck.  They both make me poop.  What's the difference? (insert dumb look here)"  And sometimes - I know this will be unbelievable but - I do get embarrassed.  Sometimes my poop issues embarrass me and I'd rather just not say anything at all.  It's not beca...

That was dumb!

I do a lot of dumb things.  My most recent dumb moment was not when I worked a 14 hours shift this past Sunday even though it about killed me.  It was however, when during that shift I decided to eat pizza that one of the other nurses bought for us.  And then I continued my dumb streak when one of the resident's daughters brought in cappuccino caramel oatmeal bars for us.  (I typically don't work on Sundays but apparently she brings in treats for the nurses every Sunday.)  I couldn't be rude and not eat any of it, right?  Let me tell you, it was a-ma-zing!!!  Well at least for the twenty minutes before I ended up in the bathroom 9 times before my shift was over.  Ugh!  Yea, I'm stupid.  My belly actually hasn't let up much since then.  I've been pooping so much I have aggravated the hemorrhoids to where they are bleeding again.  That always freaks me out.  I've been having some pretty consistent pain in...
